One thing most people can agree on: A movie theatre is a fun place to work. The smiles in these pictures bear that out.

Most of the pictures on this page were taken by Georgie Herndon when she and her husband Don owned the theatre. The pictures were given to us by their daugher Debbie.

Don and Georgie Herndon owned the Roxy from 1967 until March 1979. This picture was taken around the early 1970s.

 Don Herndon changes the marquee for the blockbuster hit, "Snow White and the Three Stooges," a matinee shown during the early '70s.

 
  Before each movie, Don could always be found taking tickets.

  Jim Miars threads the #2 projector in around 1974. Jim's older brother Tom and his father Clayton all worked at the Roxy.
